Holocaust Memorial Day 2015

To mark this year’s Holocaust Memorial Day we held a major international conference with over 60 speakers from around the world and keynote contributions from Marianne Hirsch, Leo Spitzer, Eva Hoffman and Pumla Gobodo-Madikizela. The conference was also timed to coincide with the UK launch of our AHRC-funded public exhibition, Germany’s Confrontation with the Holocaust in a Global Context, and a play entitled Falling to our Knees produced in collaboration with Theatre Company Blah Blah Blah and Escape Contemporary Youth Theatre. Videos of the full plenary panel and performance are available below.

Following the performance also held a closing Q&A session with members of the cast and also representatives from our local partners, the Holocaust Survivors’ Friendship Association. The video of this session is available below and the HSFA have also produced this comprehensive report covering all their various activities on this year’s Holocaust Memorial Day.
