New video as exhibition tours South Africa

This short video focuses on our exhibition ‘Germany’s Confrontation with the Holocaust in a Global Context’ which is currently touring South Africa. It includes interviews with the sixteen and seventeen year-old South African pupils talking about their engagement with their own, apartheid past.

The exhibition is currently on display in Durban. Dr Victoria Nesfield spoke at the launch event, alongside the German Ambassador to South Africa and a Holocaust survivor.

The exhibition was designed in partnership with the South African Holocaust and Genocide Foundation and the UK’s National Holocaust Centre.

The video was filmed and produced by Professor Paul Cooke, Germanist and Professor in World Cinemas at Leeds.
